Program
The aim of the Henley Sports Academy is to assist student athletes in their sporting and academic pathways. Students have two 80-minute and one 50-minute lessons per week over the school year. The Hockey Academy focus for each term includes:
Term 1
Theory focus: Nutrition/hydration, goal setting and match analysis.
Practical focus: Match practice, Mount Gambier camp experience and strength and conditioning program.
Term 2
Theory focus: Technique analysis, sport psychology and match analysis.
Practical focus: Strategy development during match play and umpire development.
Term 3
Theory focus: Individual performance and match analysis, coaching and umpiring and sport psychology.
Practical focus: Individual skill development and strength and conditioning program.
Term 4
Theory focus: Individual performance reflection and match analysis.
Practical focus: Technical skill and tactical development and strength and conditioning program.
