ACADEMY OVERVIEW

The aim of the Henley Sports Academy is to assist student athletes in their sporting and academic pathway. Students have two 80 minute and one 50 minute lessons per week over the whole year. The Hockey Academy focus for each term includes:

 

Term 1

  • Theory Focus: Nutrition/Hydration, Goal setting, Match Analysis
  • Practical Focus: Match Practice, Mount Gambier Camp experience, Strength and Conditioning Program

Term 2

  • Theory Focus:  Technique Analysis, Sport Psychology, Match Analysis
  • Practical Focus: Strategy Development during Match Play, Umpire Development

Term 3

  • Theory Focus:  Individual Performance and Match Analysis. Coaching and Umpiring, Sport Psychology
  • Practical Focus: Individual skill development, Strength and Conditioning Program

Term 4

  • Theory Focus: Induvidual Performance Reflection and Match Analysis
  • Practical Focus: Technical Skill and Tactical Development, Strength and Conditioning Program
