PROGRAM OUTLINE

The Specialist Soccer Program is based upon a 3 phase periodization training program that is aligned to the dynamics of a football season.  Students have two 100 minute lessons over the whole year.

Phase 1: Pre-Competition preparation (Term 1)
Phase 2: Competitive preparation (Term 2 & 3)
Phase 3: Specific Development Preparation (Term 4)

The training schedule supports a whole year development model focussing on preseason, in season and post season training methods.

  • Specific skill and technique development

  • Game play throughout the year with involvement in various competition, carnivals and exchanges
  • Individual and group strength and conditioning programs
  • Rehabilitation and recovery support

Key Theoretical Concepts: Coaching Skills and Application and Coaching in Primary Schools (Group Project)

Term 4 

Focus: Specific Development Preparation:  Individual skill and fitness development
Key Practical Concepts: Specific skill development and ball movement skill drills.
Key Theoretical Concepts: Skill / Technique Analysis
