PROGRAM OUTLINE

The Specialist Golf Program is based upon a whole year development program. Students have two 100 minute lessons per week over the whole year, which consist of practice sessions, on-course match practice, theory work, seminars and strength & conditioning sessions.

The training schedule supports a whole year development model focussing on preseason, in season and post season training methods.

PROGRAM SUMMARY

Term 1 

Focus: Competition Phase 1 – Individual Game Development
Key Practical Concepts: Individual and Strategy development through situated learning activities and skill development drills. Game Play:
Key Theoretical Concepts:  Coaching Officiating Accreditation and coaching in Primary Schools (Group Project).

Term 2

Focus: Off-Season Program – Individual Skill Development
Key Practical Concepts: Individual swings, Sport-Specific Psychology and Cross Training.
Key Theoretical Concepts: Technique Analysis

Term 3

Focus: Pre-Competition Preparation Phase – Individual and Team Preparation.
Key Practical Concepts:: Individual and group fitness and conditioning programs. Caica Cup.
Key Theoretical Concepts:  Fitness Analysis

Term 4  

Focus: Competition Phase 2 – Individual and Team Game Development
Key Practical Concepts: Individual, team and strategy development through situated learning activities and skill development drills.
