The aim of the Henley Sports Academy is to assist student athletes in their sporting and academic pathways. Students have two 80-minute and one 50-minute lessons per week over the school year.  The Basketball Academy focus for each term includes:

Term 1

Theory focus: Coaching and umpiring accreditation and coaching in primary schools

Practical focus: Fitness and conditioning, game plan development through match analysis

Term 2

Theory focus: Technique analysis

Practical focus: Game plan understanding through situated learning activities, skill development and ball movement skill drills

Term 3

Theory focus: Performance and nutrition/hydration

Practical focus: Game plan understanding through situated learning activities, skill development and ball movement skill drills

Term 4

Theory focus: Performance presentation

Practical focus: Specific skill development and ball movement skill drills.

2024: Champions: Year 9/10 Girls

2023: Champions: Year 7/8 Girls and Year 9/10 Girls. Runners up: Open Girls

2021: Champions: Pool A Open Boys and All Schools Cup
